English Premier League has the highest average player value (APV) in the world; EPL is also the most difficult league to win

  • The English Premier League has an APV of 7.35M - the highest in the world and about 54% higher than the APV of Europe's top 5 leagues (4.77M Euros)
    • Man City (19.7M) and Chelsea (18.4M) have the highest APVs in the EPL, but only the 6th and 8th highest APV indices in Europe, respectively
  • La Liga (5.3M Euro APV, 11% above top 5 league APV) , Serie A (4.23M Euro APV, 11% below top 5 league APV),  Bundesliga (4.09M Euro APV, 14% below top 5 league APV) and Ligue 1 (2.89M Euro APV, 39% below top 5 league APV) respectively have the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th highest APVs in Europe (See Chart Below)

  • Of the teams with the highest APV index in each of Europe's top leagues (PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Man City), Man City has the lowest APV index at 168% to the EPL's APV
    • It is significantly harder for Man City to win the Premier League than it is for any of the other teams with the highest APV in their respective leagues
  • PSG has the highest APV index in Europe's top 5 leagues at 444%, and should win Ligue 1 with more ease than Juve should win Serie A, Bayern should win the Bundesliga or Real Madrid/Barcelona should win La Liga
