Scouting Africa's Top Talent: Top 25 players aged 23 or younger participating in AFCON 2015


  • The average player value (APV) of the top 25 players aged 23 years old or younger participating in the upcoming AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea is about €4M  
    • Some of these players represent true value and could go on to be true world-class professionals for clubs willing and shrewd enough to invest
  • Of the top 25 players, 6 are from Algeria, 5 from Ghana, 4 from Ivory Coast, 3 from Guinea, 2 from Cameroon and 1 each from Senegal, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Congo republic and DR Congo
  • Serge Aurier (PSG|Ivory Coast) and Sadio Mane (Southampton|Senegal) both have the highest current market value at €10M 
  • 22 out of the 25 players already ply their trade in one of Europe's top 5 leagues and the remaining 3 all play for Anderlecht in Belgium
  • Not taking age into consideration, the top 5 players in terms of current transfer market value participating at the AFCON tournament are as follows (4 out of 5 represent Ivory Coast):

    • Chancel Mbemba (Congo DR|Anderlecht) and Abdul Rahman Baba (Ghana|FC Augsburg) have the 2 highest TMVs (Transfer Market Values) in this category at €6M and €3M respectively
